Nissan has announced that it will be the exclusive provider for the new Enterprise CarShare program, which will provide rental vehicles to US college students on nearly 90 different campuses.
Around 300 Nissan vehicles will be placed at various colleges as part of the program, with as many as 25 per campus at some schools. For $5 per hour, students will be able to rent out all Nissan models through 2015.
“The Enterprise CarShare program offers a convenient way for college students, faculty and staff to enjoy an extended test drive of a wide range of Nissan vehicles and to experience ‘Innovation that excites’ firsthand,” said Nissan US sales chief Fred Diaz.
The hope is that the Enterprise CarShare program will afford students the opportunity to see what Nissan has to offer. By being exposed to the brand early on, students are more likely to consider Nissan once they’ve graduated, gotten a job, and are shopping for a new car of their own.
