Last year, the Nissan Maxima was completely redesigned to become what Nissan calls a four-door sports car. It features sophisticated styling, thrilling performance, and driver focused technology. Updates for the 2017 Maxima include new technology and new equipment packages.
For starters, all Maxima models get standard Apple CarPlay. This feature will allow iPhone users to sync their phones with the onboard NissanConnect audio system and use select iPhone apps right on the Maxima’s touchscreen.
The two new trim levels include Medallion and Dynamic. The Medallion Package is available on the Platinum trim and adds a premium spoiler, 18-inch aluminum-alloy wheels, interior accent lighting, exterior ground lighting, and illuminated kick plates.
On the SV trim, the new Dynamic Package adds on side rocker moldings, a premium spoiler, 18-inch aluminum-alloy wheels, and illuminated kick plates.
No matter which model you choose, the Maxima is powered by a 300-horsepower, VQ 3.5-liter V6 engine. This is paired with a continuously variable transmission. Drivers will appreciate the Drive Mode Selector, which has both Sport and Normal settings. In Sport mode, the throttle response increases and the transmission shifting becomes more aggressive.
